Let’s Build Sh*t That Matters

Insight

I feel compelled to say this: We need to build sh*t that matters.

We’ve officially entered a sea of sameness—on steroids—like we’ve never seen before. With companies copying each other left and right, and AI trying to do everything under the sun to recreate what everyone else is doing (and by the way, I’m pro-AI), now more than ever we need to think differently & go back to basics

With culture and technology moving forward at a rapid pace, I truly feel now is our opportunity to zig when others zag and truly focus on BUILDING brands that matter.

The Moment We're In

We’re drowning in noise. Scroll through your feed—it’s all the same. Another “BUY NOW.” Another “30% OFF.” Another “SALE SALE SALE” screaming into the void, hoping someone—anyone—will bite.

And people are exhausted.

They’re tired of being sold to. Tired of hollow promises. Tired of brands that exist only to extract, never to give. Tired of feeling like a transaction instead of a human being.

But here’s the thing: this moment of exhaustion is also a moment of opportunity.

When everything zigs, you zag. When everyone’s chasing the algorithm, you build something real. When the world goes shallow, you go deep.

But here's the thing: this moment of exhaustion is also a moment of opportunity.

What Does It Mean to Build What Matters?

It means building products that matter—things people actually need, want, and feel grateful to have in their lives. Not more stuff. Not more clutter. But solutions that improve lives, spark joy, or solve real problems.

It means building communities that matter—spaces where people feel seen, heard, and connected. Not audiences. Not followers. But real human beings who share values, support each other, and grow together.

It means building brands that matter—identities that stand for something beyond profit. Brands that inspire. Brands that lead. Brands that give people something to believe in.

Brand Is the Beacon

Here’s what I believe with every fiber of my being: Brand is key.

Not branding. Not logos and color palettes (though those matter too). I’m talking about BRAND—the living, breathing soul of what you’re building.

Your brand is your promise. Your values. Your why. It’s the reason people choose you when a thousand other options exist. It’s the emotional connection that turns customers into advocates, transactions into relationships, and businesses into movements.

And right now? Right now, we need to invest in people. Invest in brand. Focus on building VALUE in the world.

Not tricks. Not hacks. Not manipulation disguised as marketing.

Value.

The Zig in a World of Zag

AI is here. It’s powerful. It’s changing everything. And I’m not afraid of it—I welcome it.

But here’s what AI can’t do: It can’t care. It can’t build genuine connection. It can’t stand for something. It can’t inspire a movement.

Only you can do that.

So while everyone’s obsessed with automation, with efficiency, with doing more faster—maybe that’s your cue to slow down. To think deeper. To build something that actually matters.

Let them chase the trends. You build the legacy.

Build What Matters

Start today. Right now. Ask yourself:

Does this product improve someone’s life, or am I just adding noise?

Am I building a community, or just collecting an audience?

Does my brand stand for something real, or am I just chasing sales?

Am I creating value, or am I just extracting it?

The world doesn’t need more brands. It needs better ones. Ones that give a damn. Ones that lead with purpose. Ones that inspire movements of positivity, connection, and hope.

So let’s build sh*t that matters.

Not because it’s easy. Not because it’s trendy. But because it’s what the world needs. Because it’s what you were meant to build.

And because when everything else fades away—the trends, the tactics, the noise—what matters is what you built, who you helped, and the legacy you left behind.

Now go build something that matters.
