About the Sandies
Held on May 21 at the Town & Country Resort in Mission Valley, the Sandies brought together more than 250 of San Diego’s leading marketers, agencies, brands, and creatives to celebrate the region’s best work! This year’s competition saw a record-breaking number of entries, each showcasing an exceptional level of creativity, strategy, and execution. The caliber of submissions set a new standard, and the margin between winners was remarkably close—further proof of the extraordinary talent driving San Diego’s marketing community.
About the Project
Our Silver Award recognized the branding work behind Vacancy, a category-defying beverage designed around a simple but powerful idea: possibility. Vacancy is the first drink of its kind, intentionally leaving 1.5 ounces of room for consumers to make it their own—whether that’s adding a spirit of choice, a mixer, or enjoying it exactly as crafted. From strategy and positioning to identity and storytelling, building the Vacancy brand challenged us to create something that felt as flexible and unconventional as the product itself.
