Eager to transform the cannabis scene on the East Coast, Sugar Grove set out to create something different in an emerging market, one genetic at a time. Set with big ambitions, genuine intentions, and overall enthusiasm to create products that transform people’s lives was just the beginning for their team. They sought an agile agency to bring their company to life by pairing quality goods with quality design. Bringing together our teams, we created all-new rules, creating the next Era of Cannabis.
We positioned Sugar Grove as a premier East-Coast Operater on a mission to create quality products with genuine intentions for a tight-knit community. Seeking to do more for the community: they wanted a place where their space and experiences could bring people together. Welcome to Landmarks & Friendships, the two pillars of their brand. From establishing their brand identity, voice, and touchpoints, our goals were to defy traditional marijuana stereotypes and norms while positioning them as a real player in a once West Coast-dominated marketplace. Paying homage to their New England roots, we crafted a fresh, modern, and innovative identity that pairs the look, and values Massachusetts was founded on. Grit, hard work, and the blue-collar working class. The Sugar Grove brand is approachable, timeless, and progressive. It unites the Landmarks and Friendships, which became the north star for the identity.
Playing on their roots of Massachusetts, the identity plays into their beliefs around landmarks. A place founded on values around community, hard work, transparency, and boldness while colliding with a passion for bringing together and developing genuine friendships. Therefore, we created a lifestyle brand that democratizes cannabis for everyone and combines the founder’s favorite values: the outdoors, community, and sea.
The logo, colors, and brand architecture represent the earth and its natural elements. From East Coast landmarks to cabins in the woods to adventure and cultivation, the Sugar Grove identity was created to symbolize progression and defying the odds.

Driven to increase the connection between people, we worked with Sugar Grove to create compelling messaging that lay at their customers’ hearts. We worked together to develop bold and confident yet genuine and inviting brand messaging that set the foundation for their voice. From uncovering their mission and vision to the crafting tag & living lines to custom brand values, we landed on messaging we all could rally behind.

We designed apparel to connect consumers to the Sugar Grove lifestyle, from beanies to shirts to hoodies and branded rolling papers. We also created business cards with gold foil to make a compelling first impression. We set the team up for success from photography to design standards as they scale the brand with Co-Branding initiatives and customer experience in-person engagements.

We knew the first touchpoint for consumers’ to discover this new brand would be online, so we developed a brand-rich digital platform for users to explore the Sugar Grove lifestyle. Keeping things simple yet engaging, we focused on creating a website that assisted their sales, marketing, and brand team needs. As a result, the digital platform welcomes everyone to the ultimate Sugar Grove destination, from featuring their products to their retailers.
